What Is It?

Persistently sweaty feet, which can be embarrassing and cause discomfort.

What causes it?

Sweaty feet are usually caused by overactive sweat glands. The problem can be genetic.

What are the symptoms?

Feet that are constantly perspiring, and may produce an odour. This can lead to an increased risk of athlete’s foot [1] and ingrowing toenails [1].

Available Treatments


    Our podiatrist can advise on a daily foot hygiene routine and footwear, in order to minimise sweating and odour. This includes advice on the most effective soaps, creams and powders to treat the condition [2].

    Deodorising insoles can also be prescribed, to help to absorb sweat.
